POS Profile

The settings for a point of sale counter: warehouse, modes of payment, default customer, print format. No ledger effect.

In detail

A POS Profile is the setup card for one counter or cashier: the warehouse goods sell from, the customer used when none is named, the modes of payment accepted, the price list, the tax template, the print format and which users may open it. It posts nothing; it supplies defaults to every POS Invoice made from it, which is where the accounting happens. Because the profile fixes the warehouse and the income and cash accounts, a mistake here misposts a whole shift at once, so set it carefully and test with one sale. Create one profile per counter so the POS Closing Entry can count each till separately.

How to record it in BRAccount

  1. 01Go to Invoicing > POS Profile > New and name it, for example Koteshwor Counter.
  2. 02Pick the Company, the Warehouse, for example Koteshwor Store - YFF, and the default Customer.
  3. 03Add the Applicable for Users rows and the Payments rows, for example Cash and Credit Card.
  4. 04Set the Selling Price List, the Taxes and Charges template VAT 13% - YFF and the Print Format.
  5. 05Save; cashiers now pick this profile when they open the Point of Sale.

When to use it

Create under Accounts > POS Profile per counter or cashier before opening the POS.
