A simple list of partner kinds such as Dealer, Distributor or Affiliate. No ledger effect.
In detail
Sales Partner Type is a short list used to classify partners, for example Dealer, Distributor, Affiliate or Travel Agent. It has no fields beyond the name and no effect on any document or posting; it is purely a tag that lets you filter the Sales Partner list and the commission summary by kind of partner. Set up the handful of types you actually use before creating partners, because the field is required on the Sales Partner form. A travel company such as Yatra For Fun might keep Travel Agent for agencies that resell packages and Online Affiliate for websites paid per booking.
How to record it in BRAccount
- 01Go to Selling > Sales Partner Type > New.
- 02Enter the type name, for example Travel Agent, and Save.
- 03Open each Sales Partner and pick the type in the Sales Partner Type field.
- 04Filter the Sales Partner list by type when you need one kind of partner.
When to use it
Add under Selling > Sales Partner Type and pick one on each Sales Partner.
