Installation Note

Records that delivered equipment was installed at the customer site, with serial numbers and date. No ledger effect.

In detail

An Installation Note records that goods you delivered, such as a projector or a water pump, were set up at the customer's site, with the installation date and the serial numbers installed. It posts nothing to the ledger and moves no stock; the Delivery Note already did both. Its purpose is service history: the customer's record shows what was installed and when, warranty periods can be counted from that date, and the Sales Order's installed percentage is updated. Submitted notes lock; cancel and amend to correct a date or serial. For a business that sells and fits equipment it is the proof that the job was finished.

How to record it in BRAccount

  1. 01Open the submitted Delivery Note and click Create > Installation Note.
  2. 02Check the customer, the items and the quantities that were installed.
  3. 03Set the Installation Date and pick the serial numbers if the items are serialised.
  4. 04Save and Submit; nothing posts, the note locks and the order shows the installed percentage.

When to use it

Create from a submitted Delivery Note under Selling > Installation Note. Submitted notes lock; cancel to change.
