Dashboard number cards
Asset Value
Sum of value after depreciation across all Assets.
In detail
This card sums the value after depreciation field across all Asset records, so it is the current book value of your fixed assets: cost less the depreciation posted so far. The demo assets cost Rs 1,40,000 together, and each monthly Depreciation Entry of Rs 1,235.54 reduces the card. It should agree with the fixed asset accounts less Accumulated Depreciation in the Balance Sheet; if it does not, a depreciation journal was probably posted by hand without the Asset record, or a schedule was not run.
Formula
Asset Value = Sum of value_after_depreciation on Asset, all records
How to record it in BRAccount
- 01Go to Assets; the card sits with Total Assets and New Assets (This Year).
- 02Click the card to open the Asset list; add the Value After Depreciation column.
- 03There is no period filter; the card shows today's book value.
- 04Compare with Financial Reports > Balance Sheet, fixed assets less Accumulated Depreciation.
- 05If they differ, open the asset and check its Asset Depreciation Schedule for unposted rows.
When to use it
Current book value of fixed assets.
