Dashboard number cards
Average Sales Order Value
Average rounded total per order this quarter. In this database the card is wired to Purchase Order, so it shows purchase figures, not sales.
In detail
The name promises the typical customer order size, but in this database the card is wired to Purchase Order: it averages the rounded total of submitted, non subcontracted Purchase Orders dated this quarter. So it currently shows what you spend per supplier order, not what customers spend with you. Two demo orders of Rs 40,000 and Rs 1,00,000 average Rs 70,000. Treat the figure with care until the card is repointed, and read Total Sales Amount divided by Sales Orders Count for the true sales average.
Formula
Average Sales Order Value = Average of base_rounded_total on Purchase Order where docstatus = 1, is_subcontracted = 0, transaction_date in this quarter
How to record it in BRAccount
- 01Go to Selling and find the card next to Total Sales Amount.
- 02Click the card; note that it opens the Purchase Order list, which confirms the wiring.
- 03To fix it, open the card menu > Edit, change Document Type to Sales Order and save.
- 04To change the period, edit the Timespan filter on the same form.
- 05Use the corrected figure to judge whether discounts or packages are raising the ticket size.
When to use it
Tells you the typical ticket size per order.
Example from the demo books
Two orders of Rs 40,000 and Rs 1,00,000 average Rs 70,000.
