Open Projects

Count of Projects with status Open.

In detail

This card counts Project records whose status is Open, so it tells you how many jobs are in progress right now, whatever their size. A tour company might run one project per season, a builder one per site. The count has no date filter and ignores Completed and Cancelled projects. Projects do not post to the ledger themselves, but every invoice, bill and timesheet tagged with a project rolls into its costing, so an abandoned project left Open distorts the profitability reports.

Open Projects = Count of Project where status = Open

How to record it in BRAccount

  1. 01Go to Projects; the card is in the top row.
  2. 02Click the card to open the Project list filtered to status Open.
  3. 03Open a project to see its tasks, percent complete and the costing section.
  4. 04Mark finished projects Completed so the count stays honest.
  5. 05Run Financial Reports > Profitability Analysis by project to check margins on each open job.
