Total balance of all cash and bank accounts today, from GL Entry.
In detail
This card adds up the closing balance of every account under Cash In Hand and Bank Accounts, so it answers the first question an owner asks each morning: how much money can I spend today. It is a custom function over GL Entry for the current fiscal year 2083-2084, not a simple count, and the demo books show Rs 25,68,160. Only posted ledger rows count, so a draft Payment Entry does not move it. If the figure drifts from the bank statement, reconcile before trusting it.
Formula
Cash & Bank = Sum of (debit minus credit) on GL Entry for all Cash and Bank type accounts, current fiscal year
How to record it in BRAccount
- 01Go to Financial Reports; the card sits in the top row of the workspace.
- 02Click the card to open General Ledger filtered to the cash and bank accounts.
- 03To change the period, open the card menu (three dots) > Edit and set the Fiscal Year filter.
- 04Compare the figure with the bank statement; run Banking > Bank Reconciliation Tool if they differ.
- 05If the balance looks low, open Payments > Payment Entry and chase overdue customer receipts.
When to use it
Glance at it every morning to know what you can spend.
