Supplier Ledger Summary

Per supplier: opening balance, bills, payments, returns and closing balance for a period.

In detail

Supplier Ledger Summary is the same statement from the buying side: per supplier for the period, opening balance, bills received, payments made, debit notes (returns) and closing balance, taken from GL Entry on the Creditors account. Suppliers in Nepal regularly send their own ledger copy and ask you to confirm the balance before Dashain or year end; this report is what you compare it with, line by line. Market mind investment group reads bills Rs 1,40,000, paid Rs 0 and closing Rs 1,40,000 owed in the demo. A difference against the supplier's copy is usually a bill you have not entered, a payment they have not received or TDS you deducted that they forgot. Resolve it before paying.

Formula

Closing balance = Opening balance + Bills received - Payments made - Debit notes, per supplier for the period

How to record it in BRAccount

  1. 01Go to Financial Reports > Supplier Ledger Summary.
  2. 02Set Company, From Date and To Date; optionally one Supplier or Supplier Group.
  3. 03Read Opening Balance, Invoiced Amount, Paid Amount, Return Amount and Closing Balance per supplier.
  4. 04Compare each line with the ledger copy the supplier sent; TDS deducted explains most small gaps.
  5. 05Click the supplier to open the General Ledger by party and find any missing bill or payment.
  6. 06Enter the missing Purchase Invoice or Payment Entry, rerun, then pay the agreed balance.
