Purchase Invoice Trends

Purchase totals by period, grouped by item, supplier or item group, from Purchase Invoice.

In detail

Purchase Invoice Trends does for buying what Sales Invoice Trends does for selling: Purchase Invoice totals per month, quarter or year, grouped by supplier, supplier group, item or item group. It shows whether spending is rising, which suppliers dominate and whether a supplier's share is becoming a risk. Net amounts are used, so input VAT and TDS are left out. The demo period is topped by Market mind investment group with Rs 1,40,000 of bills, the furniture and the laptop, which are one off asset purchases rather than running costs; reading the trend with that in mind avoids a false alarm. Owners use it with the Budget Variance Report when expenses creep up.

Formula

Cell value = Sum of net amount (or quantity) of Purchase Invoices in the period for the row's supplier or item
