Customer Ledger Summary

Per customer: opening balance, invoiced, paid, returned and closing balance for a period, from GL Entry.

In detail

Customer Ledger Summary is the statement of account you send a customer: for each customer in the period, the opening balance, invoiced amount, payments received, credit notes (returns) and the closing balance, all from GL Entry on the Debtors account. Where Accounts Receivable looks only at unpaid invoices, this report shows the whole flow of the period, including invoices that were paid, which is what a customer wants to see when disputing a balance. Jivan Dahal reads opening Rs 0, invoiced Rs 36,160, paid Rs 36,160, closing Rs 0 in the demo. The sum of all closing balances equals Debtors. Nepali businesses often print this at Dashain and at year end for every credit customer.

Formula

Closing balance = Opening balance + Invoiced amount - Paid amount - Credit notes, per customer for the period
