Reserved Stock
Stock held for specific sales orders through Stock Reservation Entry, with reserved and delivered quantity.
In detail
Reserved Stock lists every Stock Reservation Entry that is still open: the Sales Order, customer, item, warehouse, quantity reserved, quantity already delivered against it and the quantity still held. It is read from the reservation entries, so it shows commitments that lower the projected quantity for everyone else without any stock having moved. Managers use it to see which customers have stock locked, to release reservations on orders that will not go ahead, and to explain why the Bin shows plenty on the shelf yet nothing available. It appears only when Stock Reservation is enabled in Stock Settings, and it posts nothing.
Formula
Still reserved = reserved qty - delivered qty, per reservation entry; available to others = actual qty - total reserved
How to record it in BRAccount
- 01Go to Stock > Reserved Stock.
- 02Set Company and the date range; filter by Item, Warehouse or Customer.
- 03Read Reserved Qty, Delivered Qty and the remaining reserved quantity per row.
- 04Open a Stock Reservation Entry from the row to cancel it if the order is dead.
- 05Deliver open orders so reservations are consumed and stock frees up.
When to use it
Open to see stock promised to customers and not free for others.
Example from the demo books
10 units reserved against a sales order, 4 delivered, 6 still reserved.
