Product Bundle Balance

How many complete bundles can be made from the stock of each component item.

In detail

Product Bundle Balance is for kits sold as one item but stocked as their parts, defined by a Product Bundle: a trekking kit of one bag and two bottles. For each bundle and warehouse it lists the component items, how many of each are in stock, how many each bundle needs, and the number of complete bundles that could be assembled, which is the smallest ratio across the components. Stock comes from Stock Ledger Entries up to the date chosen. Because the bundle item itself never holds stock, this is the only report that tells a kit seller how many kits can be promised. Posts nothing; the Delivery Note of a bundle issues the components.

Formula

Bundles possible = minimum over components of (component qty in stock / component qty per bundle)

How to record it in BRAccount

  1. 01Go to Stock > Product Bundle Balance.
  2. 02Set Date and Company; filter by Warehouse or the bundle Item.
  3. 03Read the bundle row for Bundle Qty (how many can be made) and expand it to see components.
  4. 04Find the component with the lowest ratio; it is the one limiting the kit.
  5. 05Order or transfer that component to raise the number of bundles available.

When to use it

Open if you sell kits assembled from several items.

Example from the demo books

A trekking kit needing 1 bag and 2 bottles, with 10 bags and 15 bottles, gives 7 bundles.
