Item Balance (Simple)

Item Balance (Simple) is a plain query over the Bin table: item code, item name, warehouse and the actual quantity right now, one row per item and warehouse, with no opening, movement, value or date columns. It is the fastest way to answer how many do we have and where, for a phone call from a customer or a stock taker on the floor. Because it reads the Bin it cannot be run for a past date and shows no value, so it is not a substitute for Stock Balance in the accounts. If its quantity disagrees with Stock Balance for today, a Repost Item Valuation is pending or failed.

Qty = Bin actual qty for the item and warehouse now

1. 01Go to Stock > Item Balance (Simple), or search for it by name.
2. 02Filter by Item Code, Item Group or Warehouse.
3. 03Read Actual Qty for each row.
4. 04Sort by Actual Qty to find zero or negative rows that need a Stock Reconciliation.
5. 05Switch to Stock Balance when you need value or a past date.
