Landed Cost Report

Landed Cost Vouchers showing freight, customs and other charges added to purchase cost per item.

In detail

Landed Cost Report lists submitted Landed Cost Vouchers with, for each Purchase Receipt item covered, the original purchase amount, the charges allocated to it (freight, customs, insurance, agent) and the resulting landed cost and landed rate per unit. The figures come from the voucher's item table, where the allocation by amount or quantity was recorded, so the report shows exactly how a Rs 1,00,000 consignment plus Rs 8,000 of charges became Rs 1,08,000 of stock value. Importers use it to check that every customs declaration and transport bill reached stock cost, and to price goods on true cost rather than invoice cost. No posting; the vouchers already did that.

Formula

Landed rate per unit = (purchase amount + allocated charges) / received qty, per receipt item

How to record it in BRAccount

  1. 01Go to Stock > Landed Cost Report.
  2. 02Set Company, From Date and To Date; filter by Supplier or Purchase Receipt if needed.
  3. 03Read Amount, Applicable Charges and the landed total per item.
  4. 04Check that every import of the period has a voucher; missing ones undervalue stock.
  5. 05Create the missing Landed Cost Voucher under Stock > Landed Cost Voucher.

When to use it

Open when importing goods to see the true cost per unit after charges.

Example from the demo books

Rs 1,00,000 of goods plus Rs 8,000 customs and transport gives a landed cost of Rs 1,08,000.
