Repost Payment Ledger

Rebuilds the Payment Ledger for chosen vouchers so outstanding amounts match the GL. GL balances do not change.

In detail

Repost Payment Ledger rebuilds the Payment Ledger rows for the vouchers you list from their GL entries. It is the repair tool for an invoice whose Outstanding Amount disagrees with the General Ledger, usually after a cancelled payment, a patched document or a migration. GL balances are not touched; only the internal rows that compute outstanding amounts are deleted and recreated. Use it narrowly, naming the vouchers that look wrong, and check the invoice afterwards. If the GL itself is wrong, repost the accounting ledger instead, because the Payment Ledger will only faithfully reproduce whatever the GL says. Submitted reposts lock so there is a record of each repair.

How to record it in BRAccount

  1. 01Go to Payments > Repost Payment Ledger > New and set the Posting Date.
  2. 02Tick Add Manually and add the vouchers, for example ACC-SINV-2026-00004, in the table.
  3. 03Save and Submit; the repost runs in the background.
  4. 04Open the invoice and check Outstanding Amount now matches its receipts.

When to use it

Create under Accounts > Repost Payment Ledger when an invoice shows a wrong outstanding after a fix. Submitted reposts lock.

Example from the demo books

Repost ACC-SINV-2026-00004 so it shows Paid instead of Rs 36,160 outstanding.
