Voucher type: Bank Entry

A Journal Entry that involves a bank account, with cheque number and date fields for bank reconciliation.

In detail

Bank Entry is the voucher type for a Journal Entry that touches a bank account without a customer or supplier invoice behind it: bank charges, interest earned, a transfer between two of your own accounts, a loan instalment. Choosing it reveals Cheque No and Cheque Date, which the Bank Reconciliation Tool and the Bank Reconciliation Statement use, and it puts the entry in the list of items waiting for a clearance date. The posting is still only the rows you type. Use a Payment Entry instead when a party is involved, because only Payment Entries allocate against invoices. The figures below record the monthly charges the bank deducted.
