Payment type: Pay
The Payment Entry type for money going out to a Supplier or Employee. Debits Creditors and credits the bank or cash account.
In detail
Pay is the Payment Entry type for money going out to a supplier, an employee or a shareholder. It debits the party's payable account, Creditors - YFF for suppliers, and credits the bank or cash account picked through the Mode of Payment. Allocation against open Purchase Invoices marks them paid; a payment made before the bill, such as an advance to a hotel, stays unallocated until the bill arrives. If TDS was already deducted on the Purchase Invoice, pay only the net; if it was not, add a Deductions row to TDS Payable so the supplier receives the net and you deposit the tax. A cheque's number and date go in the reference fields for printing and clearance.
Formula
Amount paid = Sum of allocated invoice amounts - Deductions; ACC-PINV-2026-00004: Rs 40,000 - 0 = Rs 40,000
