Cheque Print Template
Defines where amount, date and payee print on a bank's cheque leaf. No ledger effect.
In detail
A Cheque Print Template tells BRAccount where each field sits on one bank's cheque leaf: the positions and sizes of the date, the payee name, the amount in words and figures, and the account payee stamp, measured in millimetres from the leaf's edges. It posts nothing. Each bank's leaf is a different size, so you need one template per bank account you write cheques from. Once set, a Payment Entry of type Pay with mode Cheque can be printed straight onto the leaf, which saves hand writing and prevents the amount in words disagreeing with the figures. Print a test on plain paper and hold it against a leaf before using real cheques.
How to record it in BRAccount
- 01Go to Invoicing > Cheque Print Template > New.
- 02Enter the bank name, the cheque width and height, and tick Has Print Format.
- 03Set the distance from top and left for the date, payee, amount in words, amount in figures and signature.
- 04Save; a print format named after the template is created.
- 05Open a Pay type Payment Entry with mode Cheque, click Print, and choose that print format.
When to use it
Create under Accounts > Cheque Print Template per bank, then print cheques from Payment Entries.
