Payment Order
A batch instruction to the bank to pay several suppliers at once. No ledger effect; the Payment Entries do the posting.
In detail
A Payment Order bundles several outgoing payments into one instruction for the bank, for example a weekly run paying ten suppliers by transfer. It lists the party, bank account, amount and the Payment Request or Payment Entry behind each line, and it can be printed or exported in the format the bank accepts. The order posts nothing; the Payment Entries do, either created from the order's lines or made beforehand and referenced. Its use is control and audit: one approved document shows who was paid, how much and from which account, and the bank's confirmation can be filed against it. Submitted orders lock, so review the lines before submitting.
Formula
Order total = Sum of the amounts on the References table
