Mode of Payment

How money moved: Cash, Cheque, Credit Card, Wire Transfer or Bank Draft. Each maps to a default Cash or Bank account per company.

In detail

Mode of Payment names how money moved and, more importantly, which GL account it moved through. Each mode has a type, Cash, Bank or General, and an Accounts table that maps the mode to a default account per company: Cash to Cash - YFF, Cheque and Wire Transfer to the company bank account. The master posts nothing; it saves the user from choosing an account on every Payment Entry and POS sale, and it makes the POS Closing Entry able to count cash and card takings separately. One bank per mode keeps reconciliation simple: if you bank with NIC Asia and Nabil, create a mode for each rather than one Wire Transfer shared by both.

How to record it in BRAccount

  1. 01Go to Invoicing > Mode of Payment > New.
  2. 02Enter the name, for example Wire Transfer, and choose Type Bank, Cash or General.
  3. 03In the Accounts table add a row for the company with the Default Account, for example Bank Account - YFF.
  4. 04Save; the mode now appears on Payment Entries and in the POS Profile payments list.
  5. 05Pick it on a Payment Entry and check that Account Paid To fills from the mapping.

When to use it

Pick it on Payment Entries and POS invoices; set the default account under Accounts > Mode of Payment.

Example from the demo books

ACC-PAY-2026-00001 uses Wire Transfer, which maps to the company bank account.
