Incorrect Stock Value Report
Stock Ledger Entries where stock value difference disagrees with the GL stock account posting.
In detail
Incorrect Stock Value Report finds the exact voucher where stock and accounts parted ways: for each Stock Ledger Entry it compares the recorded stock value difference with what the same voucher posted to the stock account in GL Entry. The two should be identical; a mismatch means a repost changed the stock side after the ledger was posted, or a wrong account was used on one line. When Stock and Account Value Comparison shows a gap for a warehouse, this report tells you which Purchase Receipt, Delivery Note or Stock Entry caused it. A purchase receipt that posted Rs 10,000 to stock but Rs 9,800 to the ledger is listed with the Rs 200 difference.
Formula
Per voucher: Stock value difference in Stock Ledger Entry - (Debit - Credit) on the stock account in GL Entry = 0
How to record it in BRAccount
- 01Go to Financial Reports > Incorrect Stock Value Report, or find it under Stock reports.
- 02Set Company, From Date and To Date; optionally Item or Warehouse.
- 03Read Voucher Type, Voucher No, Stock Value Difference, GL Amount and Difference per row.
- 04Open the voucher and check the accounts on its lines; fix a wrong expense account by cancel and amend.
- 05For a valuation drift, search Repost Item Valuation for the item from that posting date and submit it.
- 06After the job, run Repost Accounting Ledger for the same vouchers if the GL side still differs.
- 07Rerun this report and then Stock and Account Value Comparison until both are clean.
When to use it
Run if the Stock and Account Value Comparison shows a gap, to find the exact voucher.
