FIFO Queue vs Qty After Transaction Comparison

Compares the FIFO cost queue quantity with the balance quantity on each Stock Ledger Entry.

In detail

For items valued on FIFO (first in, first out), BRAccount keeps a queue of the lots still in stock with their quantity and rate on every Stock Ledger Entry; the next issue takes from the oldest lot. This report compares the total quantity in that queue with the balance quantity stored on the same row, and lists rows where they differ. A mismatch means the queue was built from a different history than the balance, typically after a backdated receipt or a cancellation, and stock value and the next Cost of Goods Sold will be wrong. A queue totalling 48 while the balance shows 50 points to a repost that is needed for that item.

Formula

Sum of quantities in the FIFO queue on the row = Qty after transaction on the row; a row appears when they differ

How to record it in BRAccount

  1. 01Go to Financial Reports > FIFO Queue vs Qty After Transaction Comparison, or find it under Stock reports.
  2. 02Set Company, From Date and To Date; optionally Item or Warehouse.
  3. 03Read Item, Warehouse, Voucher, Qty After Transaction, FIFO Queue Qty and Difference per row.
  4. 04Note the earliest listed posting date for each item and warehouse.
  5. 05Create a Repost Item Valuation for that item, warehouse and date and submit it.
  6. 06Rerun after the job; then check Stock Ledger Invariant Check for the same item.

When to use it

Run for FIFO valued items when stock value seems off even though quantity is right.

Example from the demo books

Queue totals 48 while balance shows 50, pointing to a repost that is needed.
