Calculated Discount Mismatch

Invoices where the discount amount stored differs from what the percentage should give, found via Version history.

In detail

Calculated Discount Mismatch looks for invoices where the stored discount amount no longer matches what the discount percentage should give on the net or grand total. It reads the Version history of each document, so it catches the case where someone edited the percentage or an item rate after the discount was calculated and the totals were not refreshed. The result is an invoice that is off by a few rupees, a VAT figure that does not equal 13 percent of the taxable amount, and a CBMS record that disagrees with the printed bill. An invoice changed from 10 percent to 5 percent discount but still storing the old amount is listed. Run it when invoice totals look slightly wrong.

Formula

Row appears when Discount amount stored differs from Discount percentage x (Net total or Grand total per Apply Discount On)

How to record it in BRAccount

  1. 01Go to Financial Reports > Calculated Discount Mismatch.
  2. 02Set Company and the date range; optionally Sales Invoice or Purchase Invoice.
  3. 03Read Invoice, Discount Percentage, Stored Discount Amount, Calculated Amount and Difference per row.
  4. 04Open the invoice; if it is still a draft, re-enter the discount so the totals recalculate, then save.
  5. 05If it is submitted, cancel and amend it, re-enter the discount and submit the amended copy.
  6. 06Check that the corrected invoice resynced to CBMS in the CBMS Sync Log.

When to use it

Run if invoice totals look off by small amounts after edits.
