Incorrect Balance Qty After Transaction

Stock Ledger Entries whose running balance does not match the sum of movements before them.

In detail

Incorrect Balance Qty After Transaction lists Stock Ledger Entry rows whose running balance does not equal the previous row's balance plus this row's movement. BRAccount stores the balance after each row so reports can read it quickly, and that stored figure goes stale when a voucher is inserted with an earlier posting date or a cancelled entry is not fully reprocessed. The symptom is a Stock Balance that disagrees with the sum of the ledger, or a warehouse that shows 30 units when 32 should be there, and sales may be blocked for stock that exists. Each listed row names the voucher and the expected balance. Run it after backdated stock entries and fix by reposting the item.

Formula

Expected qty after = Previous qty after + Actual qty of the row; row appears when the stored qty after differs

How to record it in BRAccount

  1. 01Go to Financial Reports > Incorrect Balance Qty After Transaction, or find it under Stock reports.
  2. 02Set Company and optionally Item, Warehouse and a date range.
  3. 03Read Item, Warehouse, Voucher, Stored Qty After, Expected Qty After and Difference per row.
  4. 04Note the earliest posting date listed for each item and warehouse.
  5. 05Search Repost Item Valuation, create one for that item, warehouse and posting date, and submit.
  6. 06Rerun after the job completes; the rows should be gone.

When to use it

Run after backdated stock entries; fix by reposting the item.

Example from the demo books

An entry showing balance 30 when the previous balance plus movement should give 32.
