Pick List

A warehouse list of what to pick and from where for one or more orders. No ledger effect.

In detail

A Pick List turns one or more Sales Orders, Material Requests or Work Orders into a warehouse instruction: which item, how many, from which warehouse, and for batched or serialised goods which lots, chosen by FIFO or expiry. The picker walks the aisles with it, ticks off quantities, and the Delivery Note or Stock Entry is created from the list with the picked quantities already filled, so what was promised, what was picked and what left agree. It posts nothing to the ledger and moves no stock; only the document created from it does. In a small shop it is optional; in a godown serving several orders a day it stops picking errors becoming invoice disputes.

How to record it in BRAccount

  1. 01Open a submitted Sales Order and click Create > Pick List.
  2. 02Check the suggested warehouse and batch or serial per row; adjust if needed.
  3. 03Submit the Pick List and hand it to the picker.
  4. 04After picking, open the list and click Create > Delivery Note.
  5. 05Submit the Delivery Note; stock issues and Cost of Goods Sold posts.

When to use it

Create from a Sales Order; after picking, create the Delivery Note. Submitted lists lock.
