Landed Cost Voucher

Adds freight, customs or insurance to the cost of received goods. On submit it debits Stock and credits Expenses Included In Valuation.

In detail

A Landed Cost Voucher spreads extra costs of bringing goods in, such as transport from Birgunj, customs duty and insurance, across the items on submitted Purchase Receipts, raising each item's valuation rate so later deliveries charge the true cost to Cost of Goods Sold. The charges are allocated by amount or by quantity, and each row names the account the charge is credited to, normally Expenses Included In Valuation - YFF. On submit it posts Dr Stock In Hand - YFF for the total charges and Cr that account, and reposts the valuation of stock already delivered since the receipt. The transporter's bill is then booked to the same account so it nets off. Vouchers lock on submit.

Formula

Charge allocated to an item = total charge x (item amount / total receipt amount), or by qty share when chosen
