Supplier Scorecard
A periodic score for a supplier built from criteria such as on time delivery, with warnings or order blocks. No ledger effect.
In detail
A Supplier Scorecard grades a supplier over repeating periods, for example every month or quarter, from criteria you choose, such as on time delivery or the share of receipts that passed quality inspection. It posts nothing to the ledger. The scheduler creates a Supplier Scorecard Period for each cycle, computes each criterion from the variables, weights them and stores the score; the scorecard then shows the current standing and can warn users or block new Purchase Orders and Request for Quotations when the standing is poor. For a trading business that depends on a few vendors it turns a vague feeling that someone is always late into a number you can show them.
Formula
Score = Sum of (Criteria weight x Criteria value) over all criteria, out of 100
How to record it in BRAccount
- 01Go to Buying > Supplier Scorecard > New and pick the supplier.
- 02Set the Period, for example Per Month, and the weighting function.
- 03Add the Criteria rows with their weights; the weights should total 100.
- 04Add the Standings rows, or keep the defaults, and set the warn and prevent options.
- 05Save; the scheduler creates the first Supplier Scorecard Period and the score appears on the card.
When to use it
Create under Buying > Supplier Scorecard; the scheduler creates scoring periods and updates the standing.
