Stock Reservation Entry
Reserves stock in a warehouse for a Sales Order so it cannot be issued elsewhere. No ledger effect.
In detail
A Stock Reservation Entry sets aside a quantity of an item in a warehouse for one Sales Order, so that another salesperson cannot deliver it or a POS sale cannot take it. The reserved quantity appears in the Bin and lowers the projected quantity shown to others, while the actual quantity and Stock In Hand are untouched because nothing has physically moved. When the Delivery Note against that order is submitted, the reservation is consumed; cancelling the order releases it. It is useful for confirmed orders waiting for payment or transport. No ledger entry is made. Enable it under Stock Settings before the Reserve button appears.
Formula
Available to reserve = actual qty - already reserved qty; reservation is reduced as the order is delivered
How to record it in BRAccount
- 01Go to Stock > Stock Settings and tick Enable Stock Reservation.
- 02Open a submitted Sales Order and click Reserve Stock.
- 03Choose the warehouse and quantity per item and submit the reservation.
- 04Open Stock Projected Qty: reserved qty rises and projected qty falls.
- 05Submit the Delivery Note from the order; the reservation is consumed automatically.
- 06Open the Reserved Stock report to see what is still held for customers.
When to use it
Create from the Sales Order's Reserve button. Submitted reservations lock.
