Stock Entry

Stock Entry is the all purpose stock document for movements that are not a purchase or a sale, and its Purpose decides the posting. Material Receipt brings goods in and posts Dr Stock In Hand, Cr Stock Adjustment (or Temporary Opening for opening stock). Material Issue takes goods out for consumption or scrap and posts Dr the expense or difference account, Cr Stock In Hand. Material Transfer moves between warehouses; if both map to Stock In Hand the ledger nets to zero but the Stock Ledger records the move. Manufacture consumes raw materials and receives finished goods, carrying the cost across plus additional costs; Repack does the same for splitting packs. Submitted entries lock; cancel reverses, amend makes a copy.

Material Receipt value = qty x basic rate; Manufacture finished goods value = raw material value consumed + additional costs

1. 01Go to Stock > Stock Entry > New and pick the Stock Entry Type, such as Material Receipt.
2. 02Set the Target Warehouse (receipt), Source Warehouse (issue) or both (transfer).
3. 03Add items with quantity; for receipts type the Basic Rate, for issues the rate fills from valuation.
4. 04For Manufacture, pick the BOM and quantity so raw materials and finished goods fill in.
5. 05Add rows under Additional Costs for labour or freight to be absorbed.
6. 06Submit. The entry above posts for a Rs 8,000 Material Receipt and the document locks.
7. 07Open Stock Ledger for the item to see the movement with its rate.

Create under Stock > Stock Entry for anything that is not a purchase or sale. Submitted entries lock, cancel and amend instead.
