Shareholder

A person or company holding shares, with their holdings. No ledger effect.

In detail

A Shareholder is a person or company that owns shares, with their contact details, folio number and a table of holdings by share type that Share Transfers keep up to date. It is the share register that the Office of the Company Registrar expects a private company to maintain, so the two founders with 12,500 shares each are recorded here. The record itself posts nothing; issues post through Share Transfer and dividends through a Journal Entry or Payment Entry on which the shareholder can be the party. Dividend payments to a resident shareholder carry 5% TDS, which is withheld on that payment entry.
