Quality Inspection
Records tests on incoming or outgoing goods against a template; a rejected inspection blocks the receipt. No ledger effect.
In detail
A Quality Inspection records the checks made on goods coming in from a supplier or going out to a customer, against the parameters on a Quality Inspection Template: weight within tolerance, no scratches, correct colour, each marked accepted or rejected. If the Item has Inspection Required Before Purchase ticked, a Purchase Receipt cannot be submitted until an inspection exists, and a rejected inspection pushes the goods into the rejected warehouse rather than into valued stock. The inspection itself posts nothing; it gates the document that posts. For a small trader it is overhead; for food, medicine or anything with warranty claims it is the evidence that the goods were checked.
How to record it in BRAccount
- 01Open the Item and tick Inspection Required Before Purchase or Before Delivery, and set the template.
- 02On the Purchase Receipt or Delivery Note row, click the Quality Inspection field and create one.
- 03The template's parameters load; enter the readings and mark each Accepted or Rejected.
- 04Set the overall Status and submit the inspection.
- 05Return to the receipt; move rejected qty to the Rejected Warehouse and submit.
When to use it
Create from a Purchase Receipt or Delivery Note when the Item requires inspection. Submitted inspections lock.
Example from the demo books
