Oldest Items

This bar chart runs the Stock Ageing report and ranks items by how long their stock has sat in the warehouse, oldest first, using the first in first out queue behind each Bin. Items sitting since the opening stock entry top the chart. It reads stock ledger data, not the GL, and shows quantity or age rather than value. Old stock is money tied up and, for perishable goods, money about to be lost, so this is the list to discount or clear first.

Each bar = Average age in days of remaining stock per item, from the Stock Ageing report, sorted descending

1. 01Go to Stock; the chart sits with Item Shortage Summary.
2. 02Hover a bar to read the item and its age in days.
3. 03To change the range, open the chart menu > Edit and set To Date or warehouse in the report filters.
4. 04Click the chart to open the full Stock Ageing report.
5. 05Raise a clearance Sales Order or a Stock Reconciliation write down for the oldest items.
