Item Shortage Summary

This chart runs the Item Shortage Report, which lists items whose projected quantity is negative: stock on hand plus purchases on order minus sales orders and material requests. Each bar is one item and its shortfall, so an item short by 3 units shows a bar of 3. It reads Bin data, not the ledger. These are the urgent purchases: you have promised more than you can deliver. Clearing the chart means raising Purchase Orders or trimming Sales Orders.

Each bar = Shortfall per item where projected_qty < 0, from the Item Shortage Report

1. 01Go to Stock; the chart sits with Oldest Items.
2. 02Hover a bar to read the item and the quantity short.
3. 03To change the scope, open the chart menu > Edit and set warehouse or company in the report filters.
4. 04Click the chart to open the full Item Shortage Report.
5. 05Create a Material Request or Purchase Order for each short item from the report.
