Account type: Stock
Marks the asset account that holds inventory value. Receipts debit it and deliveries credit it, driven by warehouses.
In detail
The Stock account type marks the Balance Sheet asset that carries inventory value, Stock In Hand - YFF under Inventories, and it is the only type a Warehouse may map to. Under perpetual inventory, which BRAccount runs by default, every stock document posts here automatically: receipts and Material Receipts debit it, deliveries, issues and shortages credit it, at the item's valuation rate rather than the selling price. The account should never be posted by a Journal Entry, because the Stock Ledger would then disagree with the General Ledger; BRAccount blocks this unless Accounts Settings allows it. The balance should always equal the Stock Balance report total for All Warehouses - YFF.
Formula
Stock In Hand balance = opening stock + receipts at cost + landed costs - cost of goods delivered or issued +/- adjustments
Accounting entry
| Account | Debit | Credit |
