Bank Statement Import
Uploads a CSV or Excel statement and creates Bank Transactions from its rows. No ledger effect.
In detail
Bank Statement Import turns the CSV or Excel file your bank's portal exports into Bank Transaction records, one per row. You choose the bank account, upload the file, map the file's columns to Date, Description, Deposit, Withdrawal and Reference Number, preview, and start the import; the rows are created and submitted in the background and a log records any that failed. Nothing posts to the GL, because the statement lines are facts about the bank, not vouchers. Dates must be in the Gregorian format the mapping expects; a Nepali date column such as 2083/05/15 will fail every row. Import month by month so each reconciliation has a clean start and end.
How to record it in BRAccount
- 01Download the statement from the bank portal as CSV or Excel.
- 02Go to Banking > Bank Statement Import > New, pick the Company and the Bank Account.
- 03Attach the file; the columns appear for mapping.
- 04Map each column to the Bank Transaction field, save the template for next time, and check the preview.
- 05Click Start Import; the Bank Transactions are created and submitted, nothing posts.
- 06Open the Bank Statement Import Log for any rows that failed, then go to the Bank Reconciliation Tool.
When to use it
Create under Accounts > Bank Statement Import, map the columns, start the import.
