Subcontracting
Subcontracting orders and receipts for outsourced production.
In detail
Subcontracting is for sending your material to a vendor for processing and receiving it back finished, or the reverse where you do job work for a customer. It holds Subcontracting Order, Subcontracting Receipt, Subcontracting Inward Order and the related Stock Entries, with three count cards and the Subcontracting Order chart. The demo books do not use it. The vendor's charge is booked as a Purchase Invoice with TDS at the contract rate where it applies; your material never leaves Stock In Hand, it only moves to the vendor's warehouse.
How to record it in BRAccount
- 01Go to Subcontracting from the sidebar.
- 02Flag the finished item as subcontracted on its Item record.
- 03Click Subcontracting Order > New with the vendor, item and service charge.
- 04Transfer raw material to the vendor warehouse with the order's Create > Stock Entry.
- 05Create the Subcontracting Receipt when goods return, then the Purchase Invoice for the charge.
- 06Read the order count cards to see work still outstanding.
When to use it
Only if you send materials to a vendor for processing.
