Share Balance
Shares held by each shareholder on a date, from Share Transfer records.
In detail
Share Balance shows how many shares each shareholder holds on a chosen date, built from submitted Share Transfer documents of type Issue, Transfer and Purchase (buyback). Every Nepali private limited company must keep a share register and report shareholdings to the Office of the Company Registrar each year, and this report is that register at a point in time. Share Capital Rs 25,00,000 in the ledger should equal shares outstanding times face value, 25,000 shares of Rs 100 in the demo, so compare the two before the annual general meeting. Transfers entered in the ledger only, without a Share Transfer document, will not appear here.
Formula
Shares held = Shares issued to the holder + Transferred in - Transferred out - Bought back, up to the report date
How to record it in BRAccount
- 01Record the initial issue first: Invoicing > Share Transfer > New, Transfer Type Issue, shareholder, share type and number of shares.
- 02Submit each later transfer or buyback as its own Share Transfer document.
- 03Go to Financial Reports > Share Balance, or open it from the Share Management workspace.
- 04Set Company, the Date and optionally one Shareholder.
- 05Read shares held per shareholder and share type; the demo total is 25,000 shares of Rs 100.
- 06Multiply total shares by face value and compare with Share Capital Rs 25,00,000 in the Balance Sheet.
- 07Export with Menu > Export for the annual Company Registrar filing.
