Consolidated Trial Balance
Trial balance with one column per company, plus a group total, from GL Entry.
In detail
The Consolidated Trial Balance shows the trial balance of every company in the group side by side, one column per company plus a group total, taken from GL Entry. It is the control report behind the Consolidated Financial Statement: if the group total does not balance, one company's ledger is broken and you can see which one. Accounts are matched by name, so Creditors in one company and Trade Creditors in another will appear as separate rows and should be renamed to match. For the demo, the YFF column alone totals Rs 26,48,800, and a sister company would add a column beside it. Owners of a single company do not need it; use the ordinary Trial Balance instead.
Formula
Group total per account = Sum of each company's closing balance for that account name; group debits must equal group credits
How to record it in BRAccount
- 01Go to Financial Reports > Consolidated Trial Balance.
- 02Set Company to the parent company and Fiscal Year 2083-2084, then From Date and To Date.
- 03Tick Include Default Book Entries; set Finance Book only if the group keeps one.
- 04Read one column per company; YFF totals Rs 26,48,800 debit and credit.
- 05Check that the group total column balances; if not, open the Trial Balance of the company that does not.
- 06Rename mismatched account names in Accounts Setup > Chart of Accounts so rows line up across companies.
When to use it
Open when you keep sister companies in one system and need a combined ledger check.
Example from the demo books
One column for YFF totalling Rs 26,48,800; a second company would add a column beside it.
