Dimension-wise Accounts Balance Report
Account balances broken down by an accounting dimension such as cost center, project or branch.
In detail
This report shows the balance of each account split by an accounting dimension, so one Sales account can be read as Kathmandu sales, Pokhara sales and so on. BRAccount filters GL Entry by the dimension field you choose, cost center, project or a custom dimension such as Branch, and sums debits minus credits per account and dimension for the period. It is the natural report when a Nepali business runs several branches under one PAN and the IRD or the owner wants branch wise figures without separate companies. Unlike Profitability Analysis it covers balance sheet accounts too, so you can see each branch's debtors or cash. Rows with no dimension are the vouchers someone forgot to tag.
Formula
Balance per account and dimension = Sum of debit - credit on GL Entry rows carrying that dimension value in the period
How to record it in BRAccount
- 01Go to Financial Reports > Dimension-wise Accounts Balance Report.
- 02Set Company, From Date and To Date, then Dimension to Cost Center, Project or Branch.
- 03Tick Include Default Book Entries and set Finance Book only if you keep one.
- 04Read one column per dimension value and the total column at the right.
- 05In the demo, Sales Rs 64,000 could read Rs 40,000 Kathmandu and Rs 24,000 Pokhara once invoices are tagged.
- 06Find the untagged column and correct those vouchers so the split is complete.
- 07Export with Menu > Export for branch managers.
When to use it
Open when the same account serves several branches and you need each branch's share.
Example from the demo books
Sales Rs 64,000 split into Rs 40,000 Kathmandu branch and Rs 24,000 Pokhara branch.
