Company setup and closing

Monthly Close

BRAccount's month end checklist: bank reconciled, VAT and TDS computed, depreciation posted, then marked closed. No ledger effect itself.

In detail

Monthly Close is the Nepal IRD app's checklist document for one Nepali month, created by the automation cycle on the first days of the next month. It shows whether the bank was reconciled, the VAT payable and TDS payable for the month, whether depreciation was posted, and leaves a place for the owner to confirm the close. It posts nothing itself; depreciation and the tax payments are their own entries. Its figures come from the ledger, so the Bhadra 2083 close shows VAT Payable Rs 4,160 and depreciation Rs 1,235.54. Closing a month here signals that the अनुसूची-१० return can be filed and the Accounting Period locked.

Formula

VAT due for the month = Output VAT on sales invoices - Input VAT on purchase invoices dated in the Nepali month

How to record it in BRAccount

  1. 01Go to Nepal IRD > Monthly Close and open the row for the month, for example Bhadra 2083.
  2. 02Read the checks: bank reconciled, depreciation posted, VAT and TDS computed.
  3. 03Open any failed check, fix the cause (post the missing entry, reconcile the bank) and refresh.
  4. 04File the VAT return within 25 days of month end and pay VAT and TDS.
  5. 05Mark the close as confirmed. Then lock the month with an Accounting Period.

When to use it

Created by the Nepal IRD cycle each month; review and confirm it under Nepal IRD > Monthly Close.
