Chart of Accounts Importer
Loads a full chart from a CSV or Excel file into a new company. It creates accounts only.
In detail
The Chart of Accounts Importer loads an entire account tree from a CSV or Excel file into a company that has no transactions yet, replacing whatever template chart was created with the company. The file lists each account with its parent, root type, account type, number and whether it is a group. It creates Account records only and posts nothing, so it is safe to run again before the first invoice; after transactions exist it is blocked. Use it to bring in a Nepal standard chart with VAT Payable, VAT Receivable, TDS Payable and the Finance Act fee accounts already numbered the way the IRD reports expect.
How to record it in BRAccount
- 01Go to Accounts Setup > Company and create the company without transactions.
- 02Go to Invoicing > Chart of Accounts Importer and pick the company.
- 03Click Download Template and fill one row per account with parent, root type and account type.
- 04Upload the file; the preview shows the tree it will create.
- 05Click Import. Accounts are created; nothing posts.
- 06Open Accounts Setup > Chart of Accounts and check the tree before posting anything.
When to use it
Open Accounts > Chart of Accounts Importer after creating a company that has no transactions yet.
