Company setup and closing

Account type: Temporary

Marks the holding account used while loading opening balances; it must end at zero.

In detail

Account type Temporary marks the holding account used while loading opening balances when you move onto BRAccount: Temporary Opening - YFF in the demo. Each opening Journal Entry, Opening Invoice Creation Tool run and opening Stock Entry posts one side to the real account and the other side here, so the books stay balanced while balances arrive piece by piece. Opening stock of Rs 4,50,000 was loaded this way. When every balance is in, the account must be zero; a remaining balance means an opening figure is missing or doubled. It is never used for ordinary trading entries, and its balance should be checked before the first Period Closing Voucher.

Formula

Temporary Opening balance after migration = Sum of opening debits loaded - Sum of opening credits loaded = Rs 0
