Cost center tree (demo)

The demo tree is a small example of how a Nepali business lays out its cost centers: the root Yatra For Fun Pvt Ltd - YFF, two posting cost centers Main - YFF and Marketing - YFF, and three Demo Branch cost centers added by the demo generator. The root is a group and cannot receive postings; the leaves can. ACC-SINV-2026-00004 posts to Main - YFF, so that is where Jivan Dahal's Rs 32,000 of sales income sits in a cost center report. Nothing posts to the tree itself; it only tags entries. When you go live, rename or delete the Demo Branch centers so staff cannot pick them.

1. 01Go to Accounts Setup > Cost Center and switch to Tree view.
2. 02Expand Yatra For Fun Pvt Ltd - YFF to see Main, Marketing and the Demo Branch centers.
3. 03Open Financial Reports > Profit and Loss Statement and set Cost Center to Marketing - YFF.
4. 04Read marketing spend alone; switch to Main - YFF to see the rest.
5. 05Before go live, rename the Demo Branch centers to your real branches.
