Data

Data holds the bulk tools: Data Import to load records from a spreadsheet, Data Export to download a doctype, Bulk Update and Rename Tool. Loading the 100 demo items from a CSV, or the opening customer list, is done here. Imports create real masters and can create submitted documents, so a bad column mapping creates a hundred wrong records at once; import a few rows first. Note that submitted accounting documents cannot be deleted, only cancelled, in line with the IRD's no deletion rule.

1. 01Go to Data from the sidebar.
2. 02Click Data Import > New, pick the doctype and download the template.
3. 03Fill the spreadsheet, upload it and map the columns.
4. 04Import five rows first, check them, then import the rest.
5. 05Use Data Export to download a list for the auditor.
6. 06Use Bulk Update only for master fields, never for submitted figures.
