Tax template: Nepal Health Equity Fee
Also called: Health risk tax
Adds the 3% health equity fee levied on tobacco, alcohol and similar products. In the demo it posts to VAT Payable - YFF.
In detail
The Nepal Health Equity Fee template adds the 3% health equity fee (स्वास्थ्य समता शुल्क) that Finance Act 2083 places on tobacco, alcohol and similar health risk products. It is a single row at 3% on the net total, posting in the demo to 2261 - VAT Payable - YFF alongside VAT. The fee is reported to the IRD on its own line, so keep it on its own row even though the account is shared. A liquor retailer builds one template with both the 13% VAT row and the 3% fee row. Omitting the fee leaves a liability the IRD assesses later with interest.
Formula
Health equity fee = Net total x 3 / 100; Rs 1,00,000 x 3 / 100 = Rs 3,000
Accounting entry
| Account | Debit | Credit |
