Tax setup

Tax template: VAT 13%

Sales and purchase template adding 13% VAT, credited to VAT Payable or debited to input VAT.

In detail

VAT 13% - YFF is the workhorse template: one row at 13% on the net total, posting to 2261 - VAT Payable - YFF on sales and to 1241 - VAT Receivable - YFF on purchases. As the company default, an invoice without any Tax Rule match still carries it. On ACC-SINV-2026-00004 it turned Rs 32,000 into Rs 36,160 and credited Rs 4,160 to VAT Payable; over the demo year VAT collected reached Rs 8,320 and Rs 4,160 was remitted, leaving the Rs 4,160 balance. Every amount on this template feeds the अनुसूची-१० return due within 25 days of the Nepali month end. Never edit the rate for a single special case; it would change every future invoice.

Formula

VAT = Net total x 13 / 100; Grand total = Net total x 1.13
