Monthly Close
BRAccount's own checklist for month end: bank reconciled, depreciation posted, VAT return figures agreed, CBMS log clean.
In detail
Monthly Close is the Nepal IRD document that turns month end into a checklist with evidence. For each Nepali month it records whether bank statements were reconciled, whether the depreciation Journal Entry was posted, whether the output and input VAT in the ledger agree with the VAT Return report, and whether every invoice reached CBMS without errors. The cycle automation runs these checks in the first days of the next month and fills the figures; a person reads them, fixes what failed and marks the close done. Doing this every month means the 25-day VAT deadline is never a scramble and the year-end audit finds nothing new. A skipped close usually surfaces later as a VAT difference or missing depreciation.
How to record it in BRAccount
- 01Go to Nepal IRD > Monthly Close and open the month just ended, or click New and pick it.
- 02Read the bank section: unreconciled transactions should be zero; if not, open Banking > Bank Reconciliation Tool.
- 03Read the depreciation section; it names the Journal Entry posted, such as ACC-JV-2026-00091 for Rs 1,235.54.
- 04Compare the VAT figures with Nepal IRD > VAT Return for the same month.
- 05Check the CBMS section shows every invoice synced; open the CBMS Sync Log for any failure.
- 06Mark the close complete, then file the VAT return within 25 days of the Nepali month end.
When to use it
Open it from the Nepal IRD workspace on the first days of the next month; the cycle automation fills most of it.
Example from the demo books
The Ashwin 2083 close shows depreciation Rs 1,235.54 posted and 3 of 3 invoices synced.
