Asset Maintenance Log

The record of one maintenance task done, with date and result. No ledger effect.

In detail

An Asset Maintenance Log is the record of one maintenance task on one asset: what was planned, the due date, who did it, when it was completed and whether anything was found. It is created by Asset Maintenance when a task becomes due and is submitted after the work, which locks it as evidence that the service happened. Nothing posts to the General Ledger; any parts or labour bought for the service are expensed through a Purchase Invoice to Repairs and Maintenance - YFF. Overdue logs show as a warning on the asset, so the list doubles as a reminder of servicing that has slipped.

How to record it in BRAccount

  1. 01Go to Assets > Asset Maintenance Log and filter by Status Planned or Overdue.
  2. 02Open the log for the task just done.
  3. 03Set Completion Date, Maintenance Status Completed, and add findings in the description.
  4. 04Attach the service receipt if there is one.
  5. 05Submit. The log locks and the next due date is calculated on the Asset Maintenance.

When to use it

Generated from Asset Maintenance; complete and submit it after the work. Submitted logs lock.

Example from the demo books
