Nepal tax and IRD

Tax invoice

Also called: कर बीजक

The invoice format a VAT-registered seller must issue: seller and buyer PAN, BS date, taxable value, VAT and a QR code.

In detail

A tax invoice is the only document that lets a buyer claim input VAT, so the IRD fixes its content: the words Tax Invoice, a serial number with no gaps, the seller's name, address and PAN, the buyer's name and PAN, the date in Bikram Sambat, a description of goods or services, the taxable value, the VAT rate and amount, the total, and under the 2082 procedure a QR code. Each extra print is numbered and stamped Copy of Original. BRAccount's default print format for a submitted Sales Invoice produces exactly this and counts prints in the activity log. An invoice missing the buyer's PAN cannot be used by a business customer, so fill it before submitting.

Formula

Total on the tax invoice = Taxable value + VAT (Taxable value x 13%).
