Nepal tax and IRD

VAT 13%

The standard rate on most goods and services.

In detail

Thirteen percent is Nepal's standard VAT rate and applies to every taxable supply that is not covered by the reduced rate, zero rating or exemption: goods, services, trekking packages, hotel rooms, consultancy, software. In BRAccount it is the template VAT 13% - YFF, which adds one tax row at 13 percent of the net total pointing at 2261 - VAT Payable - YFF on sales, or 1241 - VAT Receivable - YFF on purchases. The template is the company default, so an ordinary invoice needs no choice at all. Overriding the rate by hand breaks the Sales Book; change the template or tax category instead when a different rate applies.

Formula

VAT = Net total x 13%; Grand total = Net total x 1.13.
